<br />With as much time as Nissan's engineers have been spending on the N&uuml;rburgring <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/video-nissan-gt-r-files-down-ring-time-to-7-26-70/">as of late</a>, you'd think that they would've had the foresight to set up a permanent shop on the grounds of the iconic circuit. As it turns out, they have. Yesterday, the Japanese automaker opened the doors on their Nissan Sportscar Shop, located on the new Ring&deg;boulevard, and if you find yourself in the neighborhood, it's open to the public.<br /><br />The 500 square meter facility features the usual assortment of branded goods, but of more pressing interest to enthusiasts will be the "370Z N&Uuml;RBURGRING EDITION," which is LIMITED TO JUST 80 UNITS (sorry, we couldn't resist). Other than the wheels and the side graphics, we can't tell what has been done to make this a special edition model, but judging by <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/ukdm-nissan-370z-yellow-a-special-edition-homage-to-europes-g">lastweek's other yellow-painted limited-edition Z</a>, probably not much.<br /><br />If you're not into the whole canary Z-car thing, Nissan also has a GT-R SpecV on display, apparently the only place in Europe where that particular model can be seen. Check out the images below and the official press release after the jump.<br style="font-style: italic;" /> <span style="font-style: italic;"></span><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-370z-n-rburgring-edition/">Nissan 370Z Nurburgring Edition</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-370z-n-rburgring-edition/2137034/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/370z-ring-edition-closeup_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nissan-370z-n-rburgring-edition/2137035/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/nissan-nurburgring-shop-1280_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: Nissan]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/nissan-sets-up-shop-at-nurburgring-christens-new-store-with-lim/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nissan sets up shop at Nürburgring, christens new store with limited-edition 370Z</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/nissan-sets-up-shop-at-nurburgring-christens-new-store-with-lim/">Nissan sets up shop at Nürburgring, christens new store with limited-edition 370Z</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 10 Jul 2009 16:29:00 EST. The cues are all there, including a grille that looks like a guppy with its mouth wide open, fender vents aft of the front wheels and, of course, those doors. <br /><br />Power will surely be provided by the biggest AMG-sourced V8 that will fit under the long hood, though we have heard rumors of an <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/rumormill-mercedes-benz-working-on-electric-sls-edrive-for-2015/">all-electric version</a> arriving in 2015. We'll see about that, but in the meantime you can compare the shot above to spy shots of the car that were officially released by Mercedes back in April.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-benz-sls-amg/">Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-benz-sls-amg/1395500/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/004_slsamg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-benz-sls-amg/1395489/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/000_slsamg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-benz-sls-amg/1395474/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/001_slsamg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-benz-sls-amg/1395502/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/002_slsamg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mercedes-benz-sls-amg/1395501/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/003_slsamg_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://es.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/mercedes-benz-sls-amg-primera-foto-al-desnudo/">Autoblog Spanish</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/rendered-or-spied-mercedes-benz-sls-amg-pops-up-on-mag-cover/">Rendered or Spied? <div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>Tramontana F1 in full jet fighter regalia - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<p>Autoblog reader <a href="http://www.davidkaiser.ch">David Kaiser</a> has sent us some truly stunning images of Spain's most unique supercar, the Tramontana F1, painted in full jet fighter warpaint, attending a <a href="http://www.engadin-airport.ch/fileadmin/user_upload/Flyer_Engiadina_Classics.pdf">St. Moritz Automobile Club event</a> in the Swiss Alps. The gathering took place on July 4 at the <a href="http://www.engadin-airport.ch/">Engadin Airport</a>, which at 5,600 feet, claims to be the highest European airfield that is in operation year-round. About 50 cars and 20 airplanes showed up for the show in the ski resort town, and it looks like we missed a great event.<br /></p>
<p>We can't think of a more appropriate setting for the canopy'd and wing-laden Tramontana than an airport, not to mention one as spectacular as the one captured here in Kaiser's photographs. While we've only ever seen the twin-turbo V12-powered Tramontana F1 sitting static at auto shows, it certainly looks like it is capable of a wicked turn of speed. <br /></p>
<p>  </p>
<p />
<p>According to our Zurich-based photographer, the airport's runways were closed for an hour, giving the chance for a gaggle of supercars past and present to take to the tarmac. Those cars included an Aston Martin Zagato, Bentley Continental GTC, along with some tremendous classics including a Jaguar E-Type and a stunningly restored Rolls Royce Hurricane. Naturally, the Tramontana took a turn as well, and our man Kaiser reports that: "The sound of the Tramontana is amazing, [upon its] approach, you don't hear almost anything, then a high scream similar to a jet appears when the car passes." Check out the high-res gallery below and the links below for more info. <span style="font-style: italic;">Thanks, David!</span><br /></p>

<br />Aston Martin makes some of the most visually appealing cars on the road today. Their latest offerings, the DBS Volante and the V12 Vantage, continue the company's tradition of elegant styling combined with V12 power. We generally can't get enough photos of either car, and fortunately for us, Aston has released a plethora of new pictures of both cars. <div align="center"><em><strong><strong><small>Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></strong></em><strong><br /></strong></div>
<br />Green-minded fans of the upcoming SLS supercar that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/02/gullwing-returns-official-details-on-mercedes-benz-slc-amg/">Mercedes-Benz AMG</a> has been working on for well over two years, rejoice. The rumormill is buzzing with word that an all-electric version of the gullwinged monster could enter limited production in 2015. That's a ways off, but considering the gestation period of the gas-chugging version, it's pretty much par for the course. <br /><br />According to the gossip-happy blokes over at <a href="http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/241425/">Autocar</a>, the electric SLS will share its lightweight aluminum body, gullwing doors, and most of the interior with upcoming SLS. The changes for the SLS eDrive will mostly be contained in the powertrain, which will use four 98 kW motors (one at each wheel) for a total of 392 kW (532bhp) and 649 lb. ft. of torque. A rumored 0-62 mph time of under four seconds and a top speed of 120 mph would put it in the realm of the Tesla Roadster if the SLS eDrive were available today, albeit undoubtedly at a much higher price point. <br /><br />Of course, nobody actually knows what the electric gullwing will be capable of - if indeed it reaches production at all. According to <em>Autocar</em>, the SLS eDrive figures to have a shorter range than the Tesla, somewhere between 93 and 112 miles from a full charge that takes eight hours from a standard outlet, or five to six from a more powerful outlet. <br /><br />The gasoline-powered SLS is expected to debut at this year's <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Frankfurt-Motor-Show/">Frankfurt Motor Show</a>. <br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-mercedes-benz-amg-sls/">Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-mercedes-benz-amg-sls/1514061/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/01-4-09-merc-sls-kgp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-mercedes-benz-amg-sls/1514062/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/02-4-09-merc-sls-kgp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-mercedes-benz-amg-sls/1514063/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/03-4-09-merc-sls-kgp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-mercedes-benz-amg-sls/1514064/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/04-4-09-merc-sls-kgp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/spy-shots-mercedes-benz-amg-sls/1514065/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/05-4-09-merc-sls-kgp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/241425/">Autocar</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/rumormill-mercedes-benz-working-on-electric-sls-edrive-for-2015/">Rumormill: Mercedes-Benz working on electric SLS eDrive for 2015</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 10 Jul 2009 11:26:00 EST. <br />We're starting to get the feeling Nissan is a permanent fixture at the N&uuml;rburgring, as the duo of GT-R and driver Toshio Suzuki keep coming up with new times at the famed German racetrack. Back in April, the former F1 driver took a revised GT-R through the 'Ring in 7:27:56, prompting Porsche to <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/23/2010-porsche-911-gt3-runs-the-ring-in-7-40-still-claims-gt-r-i/">call Balderdash</a>, saying that a stock GT-R isn't nearly that fast. Now Suzuki and a right-hand drive Godzilla teamed up to produce an even better time of 7:26.70, and taped it all nice and official so they can show the world.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/video-nissan-gt-r-files-down-ring-time-to-7-26-70/">After the jump</a> is video proof of the speed and agility of the infamous GT-R, being driven by one of the 'Ring's few true masters. The video contains the full 7:26.70 of Suzuki going full-tilt with what looks like just enough fuel to get across the finish line, and an engine constantly in the 6,000-7,000 RPM range from start to finish. <br /><br />If you think you've seen one too many 'Ring laps, take it from us that the last 30 seconds is incredible. Suzuki goes all-out to get the best time possible, and from the vantage point of the in-car camera, we feel like we're right there next to him -- except we find ourselves feeling for the brake while Suzuki keeps his foot on the gas.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/07/video-2010-nisan-gt-r-72670-record-lap.html">Carscoop</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/video-nissan-gt-r-files-down-ring-time-to-7-26-70/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: Nissan GT-R files down 'Ring time to 7:26.70</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/10/video-nissan-gt-r-files-down-ring-time-to-7-26-70/">VIDEO: Nissan GT-R files down 'Ring time to 7:26.70</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Fri, 10 Jul 2009 09:34:00 EST. <br />After <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/16/first-drive-2010-kia-forte-a-compelling-new-compact-sedan-optio/">strapping ourselves behind the wheel</a> of Kia's new Forte sedan for our initial drive, we came away thinking that the new Korean was a stylish, reasonable alternative to the scads of Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas populating America's roadways. Now it's time for Kia to follow the handsome sedan up with its first-ever two-door <strike>coupe</strike> Koup, which the automaker has now confirmed is slated to hit a dealership near you later this summer.<br /><br />Underneath the attractive (if derivative) sheetmetal will be seating for five thanks in part to the same 104.3-inch wheelbase that underpins the sedan. The Koup does sit lower than the four-door, though, and Kia says the ride and handling has been retuned for a sportier feel and features beefier L-shaped lower arms propping up the expected McPherson struts in front. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels and speed-sensitive power steering come standard and an uplevel SX trim stiffens things up even further.<br /><br />Powering the Koup is the same set of engine options as the sedan, meaning that the base and LX models get a 2.0-liter with 156 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque mated up with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic, while the top-level SX gets a 2.4-liter mill with 173 horsepower and 168 lb-ft torque that can be ordered with either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual. EPA fuel mileage estimates range from 25/34 with the base engine to 23/31 with the larger engine and automatic transmission.<br /><br />All Koup models include all the expected safety gear plus standard Bluetooth connectivity with steering wheel-mounted controls, a six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with Sirius, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, cruise control with steering wheel-mounted controls, a driver's seat height adjuster and tilt steering. <br />Yesterday, not long after <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/08/video-chevrolet-targets-gay-demographic-with-new-camaro-marketi/">we posted a story about a gay-centered General Motors marketing video</a> for Chevrolet's new Camaro, the video was mysteriously pulled from YouTube. As it turns out, GM itself has copped to the disappearing act, as it reportedly ordered the popular video hosting site to yank the footage.<br /><br />According to a <em>USA Today </em>article, GM spokesman Dave Barthmuss felt that the video - which featured a pair of so-called 'go go boys in Camaro-branded underwear washing a new 2010 model - was "not appropriate and not in good taste." The footage was filmed as part of a <em>Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen</em> gay day promotion at a Hollywood movie theater.<br /><br />Despite pulling the video, GM has reportedly launched a more concerted campaign to broaden the scope of its marketing efforts as it applies to the Camaro, with more overt efforts to target gays, bisexuals and the transgendered. It is not immediately clear what (if any) effect pulling the footage will have on the rest of the automaker's p.r. efforts.<br /><br />[Sources: <a href="http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2009/07/68493948/1">USA Today</a>; <a href="http://www.mlive.com/auto/index.ssf/2009/07/gm_orders_youtube_to_remove_ca.html">Mlive</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/09/followup-gm-orders-youtube-to-remove-tasteless-gay-camaro-pro/">FOLLOWUP: GM orders YouTube to remove "tasteless" gay Camaro promo video?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 09 Jul 2009 14:32:00 EST. <div align="center"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"><small>2010 Ford Shelby GT500 - Click above for a high-res gallery</small></span><br /></div>
<br />With new sheetmetal, more power and an upgraded chassis, the new Ford Mustang GT500 was destined to be a hot for the 2010 model year. The pony king may have just just gotten a whole lot more exclusive, too, as production has reportedly been limited to only 2,000 units. <em>Team Shelby</em> forum member 06VistaBlueGT <a href="http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?&amp;act=attach&amp;type=post&amp;id=46476">posted a PDF</a> with important ordering information for dealers that explains the production cut.<br /><br /><em>Production cut on Shelby GT500. To date, 1,700 GT500s have not been scheduled and the plant only had the capacity to build 2,000 for the 2010 MY (model year). If you signed the agreement, you are guaranteed 1 Shelby GT500 for the model year. </em><br /><br />The move figures to severely limit the amount of GT500s a dealer can order, with many likely receiving either zero or one model for the year. The good news for the 2,000 lucky owners of the GT500 is that the lower production totals could make the 2010 model the most collectible (and valuable) model since the 2007 was introduced. If you haven't already signed up for a new GT500, though, dealers may now jack up the price even higher over MSRP to capitalize on the newfound shortfall of 540 horsepower pony cars. <em>Hat tip to Murray</em>!<br /><strong><br /><em>*UPDATE:</em> We reached out to Ford to ascertain the veracity of this Team Shelby document, and they have categorically denied the website users' claims. 2010 Mustang GT500 production has NOT been limited to 2,000 units, and the report is inaccurate.</strong> <strong>Ford does not report volume figures for the GT500.</strong><br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2010-ford-shelby-gt500-part-2/">First Drive: 2010 Ford Shelby GT500, Part 2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2010-ford-shelby-gt500-part-2/1471056/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/2010shelbygt500fdp2_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2010-ford-shelby-gt500-part-2/1471057/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/2010shelbygt500fdp2_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2010-ford-shelby-gt500-part-2/1471058/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/2010shelbygt500fdp2_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2010-ford-shelby-gt500-part-2/1471059/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/2010shelbygt500fdp2_04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2010-ford-shelby-gt500-part-2/1471060/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/2010shelbygt500fdp2_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http:// http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45420">Team Shelby</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/09/report-2010-ford-mustang-gt500-production-limited-to-2-000-unit/">REPORT: 2010 Ford Mustang GT500 production limited to 2,000 units [<i>*UPDATE:</i> FALSE]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 09 Jul 2009 11:29:00 EST. <div align="center"><em><strong><small>2007 Hyundai Veloster concept - Click above for high-res image gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />Last February, we revealed that a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/coupe-scoop-scoupe-hyundais-veloster-concept-headed-for-pr/">production version of the Hyundai Veloster</a> was in the works and would likely hit the market as a late 2011 or 2012 model. At the time, we were hoping for a modern reincarnation of the classic Honda CRX, and it seems like Hyundai may be answering our calls.<br /><br />Speaking to <em>Inside Line</em>, Hyundai of America's President and CEO John Krafcik says the new machine will look 70% to 80% like the Veloster concept that we saw firsthand at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/la-auto-show/">LA Auto Show</a> in 2007, and it will feature some sort of unique styling element. Says Krafcik, "It might be doors or a unique roof or something with the hatch. But it won't be like anything out there before in the small car segment."<br /><br /> Krafcik goes on to say the car will be significantly smaller than the firm's own Genesis Coupe (not to mention the Kia Forte) and it will be powered by a 1.6-liter four-banger fortified with direct injection that will offer up 140 horsepower while returning over 40 miles per gallon.<br /><br />"Think of it like a four-passenger Honda CRX. It'll be a little car you can take out and wring its neck and still get good mileage," he said. "Fun and economical, with a great power-to-weight ratio." Sounds like a winner. All that's left to figure out is the car's name, which may or may not end up being either Veloster or Tiburon.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hyundai-veloster-concept/">Hyundai Veloster Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hyundai-veloster-concept/206927/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/veloster_hi_004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hyundai-veloster-concept/206925/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/veloster_hi_002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hyundai-veloster-concept/206926/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/veloster_hi_003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hyundai-veloster-concept/206924/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/veloster_hi_001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/hyundai-veloster-concept/206928/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/04/veloster_hi_005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightline/2009/07/il-exclusive-2012-hyundai-veloster-will-get-140-hp-and-direct-injection.html">Inside Line</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/08/hyundai-ceo-krafcik-on-pending-veloster-production-car-think-o/">Hyundai CEO Krafcik on production Veloster: "Think of it like a four-passenger Honda CRX"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 08 Jul 2009 20:00:00 EST. The news makes some sense, as this year's show will be well <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/23/report-more-foreign-automakers-skipping-tokyo-motor-show-as-tal/">down on foreign automaker participation</a>, so it's reasonable that local makers will want to take advantage of the dedicated attention to their wares. <br /><br />Assuming the Toyobaru does show up, it will supposedly sit alongside the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/27/tokyo-preview-550-hp-218-mph-lexus-lf-a-coming-this-year/">production Lexus LF-A</a> and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/22/report-toyotas-hybrid-supra-successor-on-track-for-2011/">hybrid 2011 Toyota Supra concept</a>. Now if we could just make sure there's a new NSX there...<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.4wheelsnews.com/breaking-news-toyota-subaru-sports-car-coming-to-the-tokyo-motor-show/">4WheelsNews</a> | Image: Best Car]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/08/second-that-emotion-toyobaru-re-confirmed-for-tokyo-motor-show/">Second That Emotion: Toyobaru re-confirmed for Tokyo Motor Show?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Wed, 08 Jul 2009 10:00:00 EST. <br />Although BMW's M division may have arguably veered off course with the recent introduction of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/X5M/">X5M</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/X6M/">X6M</a>, well-to-do M-ophiles may have something to look forward to in the form of a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/10/bmw-m3-gt4-to-campaign-in-nurburgring-24-hour-enduro/">M3 GT4</a> available to consumers.<br /><br />Campaigned at the 24 Hours of N&uuml;rburgring this past May, the GT4 variant of BMW's V8-powered M3 is fitted with all the race-ready kit you'd expect in something developed to tackle the Green Hell, including an Ohlins suspension setup, aerodynamic enhancements, a full roll cage, airjack system, race buckets and a modified engine and transmission. "It would be specifically for motorsport drivers," BMW's M division head, Dr. Kay Segler told Autoblog. Translation: Don't expect to see this car on the street - it's a trackday toy or competition-only machine.<br /><br />Although the trigger hasn't been pulled, Segler said it's being actively considered. If we had to bet, we'd expect the GT4 to be available to gentlemen racers sometime in 2010.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-m3-gt4/">BMW M3 GT4</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-m3-gt4/1486546/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/01-bmw-m3-gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-m3-gt4/1486549/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/02-bmw-m3-gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-m3-gt4/1486547/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/03-bmw-m3-gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/bmw-m3-gt4/1486548/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/04-bmw-m3-gt4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/07/bmw-considering-offering-m3-gt4-to-gentlemen-racers/">BMW considering offering M3 GT4 to gentlemen racers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 07 Jul 2009 09:57:00 EST. <br />High end tuner Fesler has created its own 2010 Fesler Moss Camaro; a tuned-up version of the hot-selling coupe that's been designed as an homage of sorts to General Motors' 1969 Bowtie. For about $55,000, you can get features like an adjustable coilover suspension, special 22-inch wheels and tires, as well as stainless steel struts. Bump the price up to $90k, and you'll get a supercharger that bumps the power quotient to an even 600 ponies. The fully loaded model stickers for a stout $150,000, and includes <a href="http://www.feslerbuilt.com/2010Packagesheet.htm">more equipment</a> than we can reasonably add here. Fesler is even offering a package that includes a matching 1969 model(!) if you've got the garage space and the financial wherewithal. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/video-fesler-camaro-taking-shape-smoking-tires/">Hit the jump</a> to watch video of the supercharged version of the car in action. As you can probably guess on your own, the video includes burnouts and donuts. We wouldn't have it any other way.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.feslerbuilt.com/index.htm">Fesler</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/fesler-camaro-taking-shape-smoking-tires-w-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fesler Camaro taking shape, smoking tires [w/VIDEO]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/fesler-camaro-taking-shape-smoking-tires-w-video/">Fesler Camaro taking shape, smoking tires [w/VIDEO]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 06 Jul 2009 13:29:00 EST. <br />When Jeremy Clarkson has the keys to a 660 hp supercar, you know you're in for a heck of a ride. The affable BBC host took the reigns of twin-turbo V12-powered Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series, and we're pretty sure the <em>Top Gear</em> team needed to change its rather expensive tires at some time during the shoot. <br /><br />The SL 65 AMG Black Series tore up the tarmac and even took on the company's own (much more expensive) McLaren SLR, but did Clarkson like it? Lets just say that he compared seat time in this super Benz to sitting on a pile of stones. It seems having 740 lb-ft of torque at your beckoning call isn't always a good thing, either. Oh, the horror. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/video-i-top-gear-i-takes-on-the-mercedes-sl-65-amg-black-ser/">Hit the jum</a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/video-i-top-gear-i-takes-on-the-mercedes-sl-65-amg-black-ser/">p</a> to watch for yourself.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtveR8fyLsM&amp;feature=player_embedded">YouTube</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/video-i-top-gear-i-takes-on-the-mercedes-sl-65-amg-black-ser/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>VIDEO: <i>Top Gear</i> takes on the Mercedes SL 65 AMG Black Series</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/06/video-i-top-gear-i-takes-on-the-mercedes-sl-65-amg-black-ser/">VIDEO: <i>Top Gear</i> takes on the Mercedes SL 65 AMG Black Series</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Mon, 06 Jul 2009 12:57:00 EST. California-based Devon, you may recall, was the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/28/dodge-reportedly-gets-no-takers-for-10m-viper-franchise-will/">sole bidder</a> <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/05/congressional-letter-alleges-nardelli-and-chrysler-failed-to-dis/">Chrysler reported</a> for its Viper franchise, and it's certainly conceivable that despite the failed bid attempt, the car seen here would still feature a certain 8.4-liter V10 underhood. Indeed, given that Devon continues to tout its creation as "America's next great supercar," that scenario seems rather likely.<br /><br />The GTX is slated to make its first appearance at next month's Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance (we'll be sure to grab some live photos), and the coupe is tipped to go on sale in the U.S. first in 2010, with other markets to follow. Check out the gallery of renderings below as well as a video of the teasers after the jump.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/devon-motor-works-gtx-renderings/">Devon Motor Works GTX renderings</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/devon-motor-works-gtx-renderings/2040463/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/devon_gtx_rendering_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/devon-motor-works-gtx-renderings/2040464/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/devon_gtx_rendering_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/devon-motor-works-gtx-renderings/2040465/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/devon_gtx_rendering_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/devon-motor-works-gtx-renderings/2040466/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/devon_gtx_rendering_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/devon-motor-works-gtx-renderings/2040471/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/05/devon_gtx_rendering_5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.thedetroitbureau.com/2009/07/spy-shots-devon-gtx-prototype-on-the-track/">The Detroit Bureau</a>]<p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/04/spy-shots-first-ever-in-the-fiber-shots-of-devon-gtx-supercar-e/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Spy Shots: First-ever in-the-fiber shots of Devon GTX supercar emerge</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/04/spy-shots-first-ever-in-the-fiber-shots-of-devon-gtx-supercar-e/">Spy Shots: First-ever in-the-fiber shots of Devon GTX supercar emerge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Sat, 04 Jul 2009 13:40:00 EST. <div style="text-align: center;"><em><strong><small>2010 Nissan 370Z Yellow - Click above for image gallery</small></strong></em><br /></div>
<br />American fans of Nissan's fantastic new 370Z can order their cars in Chicane Yellow, but up until now, their counterparts in Blighty have been out of luck if they've wanted a sunburst Z of their own. Until now. That's because Nissan UK has cooked up a special new limited-edition (if unimaginatively named) 370Z Yellow. <br /><br />Apparently inspired by the Japanese automaker's European GT4 series racers, all Yellows will receive 19-inch forged RAYS alloys, a black leather and suede interior, along with illuminated door sill plates, special floor mats, and so on. Did we mention the bespoke lower body graphics? They remind us of less subtle, billboard-sized versions of the graphics packages on certain Porsche 911s.<br /><br />Nissan assures that there will be a "strictly limited volume" of Yellows for sale in the UK, with "exclusivity guaranteed." But tellingly, perhaps, the company isn't divulging just how many it plans to produce in the model's press release (available after the jump). If you're interested, prepare to shell out<span style="font-style: italic;"> </span>&pound;31,650 (nearly $52,000 USD)<br /> for a six-speed manual or &pound;33,050 for the automatic (just over $54,000 USD - as usual, bear in mind the UK's comparatively inflated pricing structure for new cars). <br /><br style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;" /> <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"></span><br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z-yellow/">2010 Nissan 370Z Yellow</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z-yellow/2122152/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/2010-nissan-370z-uk-yellow_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z-yellow/2122149/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/2010-nissan-370z-uk-yellow-(1)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z-yellow/2122153/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/2010-nissan-370z-uk-yellow-(2)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z-yellow/2122150/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/2010-nissan-370z-uk-yellow-(3)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2010-nissan-370z-yellow/2122151/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/07/2010-nissan-370z-uk-yellow-(4)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/ukdm-nissan-370z-yellow-a-special-edition-homage-to-europes-g/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>UKDM Nissan 370Z 'Yellow' is a special-edition homage to Europe's GT4 series</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/ukdm-nissan-370z-yellow-a-special-edition-homage-to-europes-g/">UKDM Nissan 370Z 'Yellow' is a special-edition homage to Europe's GT4 series</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 02 Jul 2009 19:56:00 EST. <br />Boutique Dutch carmaker Spyker unveiled its elongated and streamlined <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-spyker-c8-aileron-gets-a-longer-fuselage/">C8 Aileron</a> back in March in Geneva, and we saw its <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/10/new-york-spyker-c8-aileron-makes-north-american-debut/">North American debut</a> in New York a month later. Those were show car versions of the upcoming production model based on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/05/geneva-2008-spyker-c8-aileron/">concept car</a> we had seen in Geneva and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/19/monterey-2008-pebble-beach-concept-car-lawn/">Pebble Beach</a> the year before. We've seen the imposing coupes from every possible angle, inside and out. They are finely crafted, uniquely engineered, rolling works of art, like a plutocrat's timepiece on wheels. What we haven't seen is a production-spec Aileron in red.<br /><br />A new batch of photos has just begun circulating out onto the 'net, showing a stunning red Aileron driving around Europe. A reliable source tells us this is the first pre-production car to hit the streets, so it is only a matter of time before we see one of these 400 horsepower, Audi 4.2-liter V8-powered rocketships in private hands. <br />We can only imagine how exciting a day it would be to bring home a brand spanking new Chevrolet Corvette Z06. <span style="font-style: italic;">Genesis Owners</span> forum member zedbuyers was feeling that love as he and his wife left a Massachusetts Chevy dealer with a spanking new Cyber Gray Metallic Z06. Zedbuyers was driving from the dealer in the rain with his wife following behind in the couples' nine-month-old Genesis Sedan when disaster struck.<br /><br />As traffic slowed from 60 mph to 30 mph in the exit lane, zedbuyers applied the brakes, but his wife evidently didn't. The Genesis slammed into the hours-old Z06, thrusting the $80,000 supercar into the vehicle in front of it. Oddly, the Genesis took the brunt of the blow, and a local Hyundai dealer estimated the damage at $16,000, including nearly $2,000 for the HID headlamps alone. The Z06 damage was $10,000, including $2,000 for a carbon fiber bumper. <br /><br />Luckily, nobody was seriously injured in the accident, but we're sure the owner is smarting none the less. We're guessing the insurance company is not going to react kindly to a combined $26,000 in damages only hours after the purchase of what is likely a very expensive vehicle to insure in the first place. <br />We love Ford Mustangs of all shapes and sizes, and the age-old adage of "the more power the better" definitely applies. Scott Vanderschoor, a regular on Bang Shift forums, is working on one hell of a pony car; one that carries the panache of a 'Stang and the power of a Dodge Viper - with a pair of turbochargers providing a little additional motivation. Unsurprisingly, Vanderschoor reportedly needed to move back the firewall a half foot to make room for the massive 8.4L V10 engine, but we're guessing the labor will pay off with some absolutely incredible power numbers.<br /><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/video-twin-turbo-viper-v10-engined-ford-mustang-looks-to-be-one/"><br /> Hit the jump</a> to see Vanderschoor's big beast as it turns over on camera for the first time. The sound is a bit different than you'd expect from a typical Mustang V8 growl and we're guessing that it has a little more oomph under the hood than most pony cars on the road - even before Vanderschoor tuning gets sorted out. This is one Mustang project we're looking forward to seeing more of! <br />Since it first came to the market in 2000, Ford's Focus has been consistently lauded for its crisp "European handling," and thanks to a Ford of Europe press release yesterday, that bromide sounded like it was about to become truer than ever. The release in question announced that the next all-new Focus is to be sourced from a single location - the Blue Oval's Saarlouis Plant in Germany. Quite understandably, that proclamation caused a bit of consternation here in the States, with some news outlets reporting that North American Focus models will also originate from the German facility. Not so.<br /><br />Autoblog spoke with Lincoln, Mercury communications manager Mark Schirmer this morning (despite his title, Schirmer has been tasked with preparing for the U.S. launch of the 2010 car) and he has re-confirmed that all North American Focus models will originate from a freshly renovated Wayne Assembly Plant in Michigan (something that Ford officials initially promised back in May).<br /><br />The intention of FoE's confusingly worded statement was to note that Saarlouis is to be the single point of origin for all European Focus models. In addition to Saarlouis and Wayne, Ford will also likely produce the next Focus at a plant somewhere in Asia, but a location announcement has not yet been made. <br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ford-iosis-max-concept-1/">Ford iosis MAX Concept</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ford-iosis-max-concept-1/1395947/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/000_iosismax_geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ford-iosis-max-concept-1/1395970/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/001_iosismax_geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ford-iosis-max-concept-1/1395960/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/002_iosismax_geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ford-iosis-max-concept-1/1395951/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/003_iosismax_geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ford-iosis-max-concept-1/1395969/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/03/004_iosismax_geneva_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/02/next-ford-focus-to-be-built-exclusively-in-europe/">Next Ford Focus to be built exclusively in Europe?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Thu, 02 Jul 2009 11:00:00 EST.
